    Quick, inexpensive and works perfectly

    Our DC08 vac sounded odd and smelt of burnt insulation. A You Tube video showed how it comes apart easily. On motor removal I found the commutator was burnt. The brushes were OK so I deduced the windings were shorted. Finding this motor online replacement seemed like good value. It arrived promptly and fitted without hassles. The vac is now working again, just like it did before it failed.

    On website motor is shown with red and black connectors, unpack the motor - no connectors at all just 2 wires the same colour, so even if we can connect our own connectors, we cant tell positive and negative. Wrote to Vacuum spares, over a week later no response, except this survey!

    Motor did not come with spade connectors on the end of the fly wires. Wiring connections between the windings and the brushes were loose and needed to be soldered.
